Actions in San Luis Rio Colorado and Altar

 

Sonora newspaper El Imparcial reports that on September 3 military elements in San Luis Rio Colorado found a drug warehouse and a vehicle smuggling methamphetamine, in addition to two armored vehicles in the municipality of Altar.

Soldiers from the 22nd Motorized Cavalry Regiment found the warehouse in the Colonia Mezquite area of the city of San Luis. The building contained 560 kilos (about 1,235 pounds) of methamphetamine in containers, in addition to dozens of plastic bags.

On the same day, soldiers at the Cucapah Military Strategic Security Post, also in the municipality of San Luis RC, stopped a vehicle for inspection. They found 53 kilos (about 117 pounds) of meth hidden in the vehicle’s gas tank. Three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

And in the municipality of Altar, soldiers from the Third Motorized Cavalry Regiment located and seized two civilian vehicles that had been armored.

Suspects, seized drugs and vehicles were turned over to the appropriate ministerial authorities.
