Holy Trinity Church

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in El Júpare, Sonora is the religious center for religious ceremonies and traditional fiestas in this Southern Sonora town.

The Holy Trinity is a greatly revered religious image in this deeply religious community that was one of the original eight Mayo pueblos established by Jesuit missionaries in the early 1600’s.

And this indigenous church is the focal point for festivities for all Mayo traditional fiestas, especially so during the weekend of the Pentecost and the following weekend, which is the feast day of the Holy Trinity.
