Guaymas celebrates one of Sonora’s most famous coastal delicacies: shrimp. Throughout the month, the city may feature shrimp tastings and recipe showcases, cultural and arts activities, local restaurant specials, and community events tied to the fishing season.

All Saints Day (Día de Todos los Santos)

A Catholic feast day honoring all saints.
In Mexican tradition, this day is also associated with remembrance of children who have passed away, often referred to as Día de los Santos Inocentes in some communities.

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos)

One of Mexico’s most iconic cultural traditions. Families honor deceased loved ones through cemetery visits, flowers (especially marigolds), candles and prayer, food offerings, and home altars (ofrendas).
In Sonora, Día de Muertos can include both private family traditions and public displays in plazas, museums, and cultural centers.

Rocky Point Rally
Puerto Peñasco
One of the biggest tourism weekends of the year in Rocky Point. This annual biker rally includes poker runs, motorcycle exhibitions, stunt shows, live music and street festivities, and charity fundraising.
You don’t need to be a biker to enjoy the event, the atmosphere is lively, social, and very visitor friendly.
Mid-November
Festival of Our Lady of Balvanera
La Aduana (near Álamos)
One of the most distinctive religious pilgrimages in southern Sonora for the Feast Day of the Virgin of Balvanera on November 20. Each year, many faithful walk the 20-mile route from Navojoa to the small pueblo of La Aduana to fulfill a manda (a promise), ask for a blessing, or express devotion to the Virgin of Balvanera.
The festival is both spiritual and cultural, featuring religious ceremonies, food and community gatherings, music and tradition in a rural setting.

Revolution Day (Día de la Revolución)

A national holiday commemorating the Mexican Revolution of 1910. Although not as large as Independence Day celebrations in September, Revolution Day is widely observed. Most schools, banks, and government offices close, and many cities hold civic parades and commemorative events.
