Bars and Cantinas at Puerto Viejo (Old Port) and the Malecon Fish Market
Most of the tourist bars are in the Old Port (Puerto Viejo) district known as the Malecon, and also known as the Old Port Fish Market area. Many of the Malecon bars close at 10 or 11 p.m., although others are open all night. The Malecon is a also the place to enjoy a great meal at one of its many restaurants or from a street vendor and buy tourist goods like t-shirts and curios.
